Prescription Policy

Our requirements and framework for prescription issuance. Draft — not reviewed by legal counsel.

Prescription Requirement

All protocols available through Verum Health require a valid prescription issued by a licensed physician. No protocol order is fulfilled without a valid prescription on file. This is not a policy preference — it is the regulatory and clinical foundation of the platform.

Prescription Issuance Process

Prescriptions are issued only following: (1) submission and physician review of your HIPAA-secure health intake; (2) determination of candidacy by the reviewing physician; and (3) completion of a virtual consultation with your assigned physician or NP. Prescriptions are issued at the conclusion of the consultation if clinical eligibility is confirmed.

Physician Independence

The physicians and NPs who issue prescriptions through the Verum Health platform exercise independent clinical judgment. Verum Health does not direct clinical decisions. If a physician determines that a protocol is not appropriate for a patient, no prescription is issued — regardless of the patient's interest in proceeding.

Pharmacy Dispensing

All prescriptions are fulfilled by our licensed 503A compounding pharmacy partner. The pharmacy operates under FDA guidelines and applicable state pharmacy board regulations. Prescriptions are transmitted electronically to the pharmacy in compliance with applicable e-prescribing regulations.

Prescription Validity and Refills

Prescriptions issued through Verum Health are valid for the duration specified by the prescribing physician, subject to state-specific prescription validity limitations. Refills require a follow-up physician review. The prescribing physician may decline to authorize a refill based on clinical judgment.

Off-Label Use

Some protocols available through Verum Health involve off-label use of compounded medications. Off-label prescribing is a lawful and common clinical practice when a licensed physician determines it is appropriate for an individual patient. All off-label use is disclosed to patients during the consultation process.

Patient Responsibilities

Patients are responsible for disclosing complete and accurate health information during intake and consultation. Providing false or incomplete information that affects prescription decisions is a violation of these terms and may have clinical consequences.
